Explanation of Leagues
Utah Youth Soccer Association State Leagues
UYSA administers leagues for ages U9-U19. Each League offers an appropriate level of competition for youth soccer teams throughout Utah. More than 1,800 teams, hailing from as far north as Logan and as far south as St George, have been organized into one of the leagues and in each league into divisions for competition based on gender, age, and competitive strength. Perhaps no other state in the country matches Utah’s diverse offerings with its geographic and competitive reach.
X-League
This is a bridge for teams coming from recreation to competition level soccer at the lower age groups (9U-12U).
Inter Regional League (IRL)
Entry level league in the state competition league. The vision of this league was built to have a limited travel commitment outside of each region and focus on localized competition.
State Competition League (SCL)
This is the first level of travel, inter-regional play for top 11U-19U teams competing in regions 1-5. Games can be played between teams from any of the 5 regions.
Premier League
This league offers the highest level of competition for youth soccer teams in Utah. Utah's top teams from clubs across the state participate in the Premier League. More than 320 plus teams compete in the two divisions for competition based on gender, age and competitive strength.
Southern Utah- Inter Regional League
The Southern Utah Inter-Regional League offers the highest level of competition league soccer for youth teams in Southern Utah.
Recreation Soccer
Recreational soccer is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.
High School Provisional (HSP)
Temporary seasonal league for players who are not playing UHSAA high school soccer. This is for the U15-U19 age group and is available to girls in the Fall and boys in the Spring.
