Spring ‘23 Season Sideline Conduct Reminder

Welcome to the Spring ’23 Season

We are all excited to see a little less snow on our fields and more players!

With games starting this Sat for regions 1 through 5, it is time to send out, yet again, our reminders for HOW we will all behave at UYSA’s games.

Feel free to jump right onto the following Know Your Role In Youth Sports (travelmedford.org) for more clarification as to the proper behavior for a player, coach, parent or referee.  The key word is “OR” – you get to be ONE at any UYSA game.

For those who fail to Know Their Role, UYSA will continue to implement our Zero Tolerance Program for any referee abuse.   If you have any questions as to what behavior is appropriate, here is our Zero Tolerance FAQ page:

Zero Tolerance for Referee Abuse FAQs — Utah Youth Soccer Association

Overall, since the policy has been implemented in Spring 2022, we have seen a dramatic improvement in coach and parent behavior toward referees exemplified by really good behavior during UYSA’s most recent tournaments.  We are all getting there – and aren’t quite there yet.  When the day comes that every player WANTS to be a ref because of how well they are treated, we will know we have arrived.

As always, if you have any questions on any UYSA issue, please give us a call (801) 307-5150 or via e-mail sboyd@utahyouthsoccer.net ; cbaron@utahyouthsoccer.net

Thanks all and have a great season!
