UYSA Suspends Gaming League Play Two Weeks for COVID-19 Preemptive Measures

Sandy, UT - 03/12/2020

 

Due to the COVID- 19 prevention efforts set in place by Utah State Governor Gary Herbert in which gatherings of more than 100 individuals is not recommended and larger group interactions should be limited for two weeks’ time, Utah Youth Soccer Association will be suspending play for the same amount of time effective immediately with play scheduled to begin again March 30th. As this is a continuously changing matter, updates will be made to ensure player and family safety is at the core of any future decisions made.

Games scheduled during this period can be rescheduled at any time during the season until an adjusted league end date of June 6, 2020.* Games impacted by this two week postponement will need to be rescheduled following the "Other Reschedules" Instructions which can be found here:

*Region VI Play is suspended as well, more information to follow on reschedule policy. 

At this time, Utah State Cup will be scheduled as planned on May 11th.. Practices will be at the discretion of member organizations, but with the urging to be safe, smart and follow the protocols set forth by state leaders and healthcare professionals.
