Sanctioned Tournament Protest

A protest has been filed by Utah Avalanche concerning an unapproved location change of North Utah County Soccer’s sanctioned tournament.

Mayor’s Cup (Utah Avalanche) and Utah Gold Cup (NUCS) tournaments run concurrent over Labor Day Weekend. Following the Sanctioned Tournament Committee approval meeting in October 2021, Utah Gold Cup changed the tournament location to the same venue as Mayor’s Cup without the approval of the Sanctioned Tournament Committee.

The Sanctioned Tournament Committee has voted to allow Utah Gold Cup to continue to run their tournament with the venue change and be placed on probation for one year. Utah Avalanche has filed a protest against this decision.
