UYSA Announces New Referee Certification Subsidy and Uniform Program!
June 22, 2022 - As part of the UYSA’s commitment to building and improving the state referee pool, we are excited to announce a new certification subsidy and uniform program to help remove some of the financial barriers that come with signing up to become a referee.
Here is what the new program looks like:
Beginning in July 2022, UYSA will subsidize every new and returning referee’s certification fee by $50 dollars. The discount will be taken off up front when you register and UYSA will reimburse the SRC the additional $50 after registration.
UYSA will also be providing a FREE 10-piece referee kit to every 1st year referee! (bag, uniform, whistle, cards, flags). After you finish certification, you will receive a free promo code to order the kit and have it shipped to your house.
Our goal is to grow the referee pool and keep our referees longer. We are committed to making it financially easier to become a referee and along with our zero-tolerance referee abuse policy, treat our referees better once they start officiating games. As we do this together, we know we can create a referee pool that will improve the experience for our players, coaches, clubs and families.

Referee Certification Fee Info
Certification between Jan 1 and June 3 (certification good until the next Dec 31, for example if you register in January of 2022, your certification will be good until Dec 31 of 2022)
$90 – certification fee ($70 to Utah SRC and $20 to US Soccer)
With UYSA’s subsidy your fee will be $40
Certification between July 1 and Dec 31 (certification good until the following Dec 31, for example if you register in July of 2022, your certification will be good until December 31 of 2023)
$110 – certification fee ($85 to SRC and $20 to US Soccer)
With UYSA’s subsidy your fee will be $60
*$30 – background check for anyone 18 and over (good for 2 years)
