Cindy Baron Retires from UYSA, Scot Boyd to serve as League Commissioner

June 21, 2023, Sandy, UT - The Utah Youth Soccer Association announced today that Cindy Baron, longtime Board President and former League Commissioner, has decided to retire effective June 21, 2023. Scot Boyd will serve as League Commissioner of the UYSA gaming league upon Baron’s retirement.

Baron has been involved in Utah Youth Soccer for more than 30 years, serving as the UYSA Board President for nine years, a director for USYS in the Western Region, and most recently, as the UYSA League Commissioner since 2017. With years of service, Baron was also inducted into the UYSA Kirk Hoecherl Hall of Fame back in 2015.

“On behalf of Utah Youth Soccer, I want to thank Cindy for her years of service within our Association. Her influence has made an undeniable impact on generations of soccer players throughout the state of Utah, and she will be greatly missed within the community. We wish her the best in retirement and all her future endeavors,” UYSA CEO Bryan Attridge said.

Following her official retirement, Scot Boyd will now serve as League Commissioner.

“I am humbled to be following in Cindy's footsteps,” Boyd said. “ I hope to continue evidencing her love for the game and the players in all of our decisions.”
